MAKING AN IMPACT
Our CAT15 Volleyball Fundraiser is more than just a game—it's our commitment to making a difference in the world. This year, we're proud to support charities close to our hearts: the American Cancer Society and the 1:12 Project.
The American Cancer Society holds a special significance for us. Over the years, we've partnered with them through initiatives like the CAT, Men Wear Pink, and Tackle Cancer. Our dedication stems from personal experiences, with loved ones like Aunt Karis and Kathy Klimchak, who courageously battled cancer. Your support fuels critical research, patient care, and the fight for a cure.
But our impact doesn’t stop there. Through NOVUS’ 1:12 Project, we're empowering underprivileged youth in the Dominican Republic through sports and faith. From hosting Baseball Sports Camps to providing clean water and supporting local jobs, your donations make a tangible difference in communities like Banica.
Every serve, every donation, and every moment of this event brings us closer to a world with more hope and less hardship. Join us in making a difference!
THE HISTORY OF THE CAT
Fifteen summers ago, high school brothers Nick and Garrett Bernardo, along with their best friend Alex Martin, launched a small volleyball tournament with friends in Bethlehem, NY. What began as a backyard event with just eight teams quickly grew into something bigger—uniting players, referees, DJs, and announcers in a shared passion for competition and community.
Today, the CAT Volleyball Tournament has evolved into a 16-team annual event, attracting dedicated athletes and supporters from across the region. Since 2012, NOVUS Clothing Company has proudly outfitted the tournament, providing custom tees and tank tops while using the platform to give back.
Over the years, the CAT has raised funds for meaningful causes, including the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and the American Cancer Society of the Capital Region. What started as a friendly game has become a powerful tradition—one that continues to make an impact.
