NOVUS Partners with Project 34
NOVUS Clothing Company is excited to announce a new partnership with Project 34, a non-profit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of individuals with spinal cord injuries. NOVUS worked closely with the Project 34 team to craft a collection of custom gear for athletes, fans, and supporters that launched on one of baseball’s most exciting days: July 13, 2021, the day of the MLB All-Star Game.
NOVUS, owned by brothers and former college baseball players Garrett and Nick Bernardo along with business partner Scott Klimchak, is empowering athletes, teams, colleges, and organizations across the country by offering high quality custom sportswear and apparel. With a strong faith-based platform and the slogan “Claim your crown,” NOVUS believes in perseverance through life’s trials, something that Project 34’s mission strongly aligns with.
After suffering from a spinal cord injury while sliding headfirst into second base as a player at Arizona State University, Cory Hahn’s life changed forever. Project 34 and its mission came out of the tragedy that impacted Hahn and had ripple effects on his friend, roommate, and teammate Trevor Williams, now a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. Through Cory’s experience, they saw firsthand the financial burdens that necessary equipment for people with spinal cord injuries can bring.
Project 34’s mission is to help ease the stress on individuals with spinal cord injuries through assistance purchasing medical equipment and assistive devices as well as providing grants to help them afford physical therapy.
“When I think of ‘claiming your crown,’ I think immediately of Project 34’s mission,” Williams said. “With Project 34, we help to assist those to get to what is next and to claim the crown of their own.”
The Project 34 collection is offered on a limited time online storefront with portions of the proceeds going directly to the foundation. We are so excited for this partnership, to build relationships with Cory and his team at Project 34, and to positively impact the lives of individuals living with a spinal cord injury!
