NOVUS Sponsors and Outfits the Volleyball League of America

NOVUS Clothing Company is proud to announce its partnership with the Volleyball League of America, a high-level professional volleyball league with teams comprised of former NCAA/NAIA collegiate standouts, domestic pro players, and international pro players that have competed overseas. NOVUS will be sponsoring the league and outfitting all of their teams with custom uniforms and apparel.

While there aren’t any “established” professional volleyball leagues in the U.S., the league offers an opportunity for high-level volleyball players to play in the states.

“The VLA aims to create a league where there are different tier levels for both males and females to remain in the country and play high-level pro volleyball,” said Chris Hosley, General Manager, coach, and player on TeamLVC out of Albany, NY. He also serves as the Director of League Development and VLA board member.

Currently, the VLA only has men’s teams but is planning to expand to include women’s teams in future seasons. They also play matches at youth volleyball tournaments across the country, building a larger community around all levels of the sport.

“Each of our events brings an awesome experience and high-level volleyball,” Hosley said. “It brings together great groups of people from different locations that I enjoy being around on and off of the court.”

The league started during the pandemic and originally had five teams. Now, they have eight Tier-1 teams and 18 Tier-2 teams.

“This year we get to show the world our plan and the substantial growth we have already seen,” said Tim Falknor who serves as Director of Player Relations, member of the Board of Directors, and owner and manager of the Chicago Iceman. “I like to think we are creating a sustainable Professional volleyball league that's designed to incorporate all of the volleyball community, not just the elite players of the country.”

NOVUS will be providing all of the custom uniforms and apparel for each team across the two tiers.

“We're excited to work with a professional organization that takes pride in providing quality product and service,” Falknor said. “My goal is that NOVUS will truly share the growth we are looking at in the coming years.”

Hosley shares the same sentiment as Falknor, but with a personal twist.

“Not only does NOVUS make great high-level athletic clothing, but the brand and people involved are close personal friends,” Hosley said. “I think we share the same vision to improve our companies each and every day while we are striving to become the best we can be.”

The VLA opens up its 2022 season this weekend, January 15 and 16, in Fort Wayne, IN. To view the league’s full schedule, visit https://volleyballleagueofamerica.com/schedule. Follow the VLA on Instagram and Twitter @vlavolleyball to keep up with the teams and their partnership with NOVUS.
