March 2023 NOVUS Newsletter
From exciting sponsorship opportunities to celebrating our NOVUS athlete seniors, NOVUS had an eventful month in March. Two-time Super Bowl Champion, Harrison Butker even stopped by the Capital Region to hang out with the NOVUS team!
Harrison Butker Visits the Capital Region
NOVUS Athlete and Super Bowl Champion, Harrison Butker visited the Capital Region! Harrison kicked off his Capital Region tour with a visit to La Salle Institute, where NOVUS co-founders, Nick and Garrett Bernardo went to high school. He spoke to the staff about his faith and athletic career. The next stop was RPI where the NOVUS and members of the RPI football team got to witness Harrison kicking his legendary field goal and doing his usual workout routine. The whirlwind of a day ended at NOVUS HQ where Harrison “helped out” around the office—in full uniform followed by a Happy Hour with some of NOVUS’ clients, family and friends.
JG3 Senior Day Tee
To commemorate Joseph Girard III’s Senior Day, NOVUS designed a limited edition t-shirt for the SU basketball star. The big game honored the SU Basketball seniors and also the 20th anniversary of the 2003 National Championship Team. NOVUS is excited to see what’s next for JG3 as he enters the 2023 NBA Draft process.
Patroons Home Opener
The Albany Patroons kicked off the month with their home opener outfitted in NOVUS for the second year in a row! Nick and Garrett Bernardo have deep roots with the Albany Patroons thanks to their Grandfather, Bill Bernardo. Bill Bernardo was a charter member of the team’s board of directors in 1983 and successfully helped the Patroons bring on their first coach and now legendary NBA coach, Phil Jackson. NOVUS is excited to be outfitting the Patroons players and coaching staff in custom apparel for the 2023 season.
GymRat Sponsorship
NOVUS is proud to be the official apparel sponsor of the GymRat LIVE & GymRat Challenge. Hosted in the Capital Region, these tournaments showcase high-caliber athletes from the top AAU Basketball programs on the East Coast.
The CrownCast
In March, NOVUS had the opportunity to chat with Christina Wellen, Florida Gators outfielder. Christina has played ball in the 2022 Women’s College World Series and is a 3x All-State Softball player. Christina shared her journey to playing D1 softball and the power of perseverance she has learned throughout her athletic career.
Albany Empire Partnership
NOVUS will be outfitting the Albany Empire for their 2023 season. NOVUS will also be prominently displayed during games at MVP Arena as an official partner of the Empire. NOVUS is the presenting sponsor of the Claim Your Crown Relay and it will be difficult to miss the NOVUS logo on the jumbotron, dasher board, and the arena’s outdoor video boards.
Crown Claiming Athletes
NOVUS Athlete and Penn State Hockey forward, Ture Linden took the ice and defeated Michigan Tech, 8-0—the largest shutout in NCAA Ice Hockey tournament history.
