Meet NOVUS Athlete Ross Scott
Rutgers University Lacrosse Attack & Team Captain
Who is Ross Scott?
While the Pacific Northwest may be synonymous with other sports, Ross Scott found his calling in the fast-paced and dynamic game of lacrosse. From his hometown of West Linn Oregon, Ross discovered his love for the sport at a young age after being handed a loosely strung lacrosse stick in his neighbor’s backyard.
The relentless pursuit of his dream to play at a high college level caught the attention of recruiters, which ultimately led to his commitment to Rutgers University as an attack for the men’s lacrosse team.
After being named All-World Most Outstanding Attacker at the 2022 World Games where he led Team Canada to the finals, placing 2nd out of 23 teams globally, Ross certainly made a name for himself. Ross was also named All-American in the 2022 season and 2nd Team All-Big Ten in 2023, where he lead Rutgers with 25 goals and 17 assists this past season. Ross’s commitment both on and off the field impressed his teammates and coaches enough to earn him the position of captain—a testament to his leadership and dedication.
NOVUS Partners with Ross Scott
Ross’s curiosity and interest in the partnership rose while coaching an AAU lacrosse team with one of NOVUS’ co-owners who also happens to be a Rutgers lacrosse alum.
“There are a lot of great players out there, but it’s the type of person Ross is and how he carries himself that is so important in being a leader,” says Co-Owner & CEO Scott Klimchak.
Originally a NOVUS intern, Ross was already familiar with our team, values, and stories that helped shape the brand into what it is today.
The company recognized Ross's extraordinary spirit and partnered with him to help tell his story, as he is one of the best on the field and someone you can relate to off the field.
“I love the small beginning background of this continuously growing company,” he says. “They bring so much creativity to the game and are always leveling up their style.”
Ross’s partnership with NOVUS serves as a beacon of hope for young athletes, encouraging them to follow their dreams and take chances on themselves.
What’s Next for NOVUS?
NOVUS continues to connect and foster relationships with college athletes, like its partnerships with Ture Linden from Penn State, Dolly Cairns from FGCU, and Joe Girard III from Clemson.
We’re excited to have Ross Scott join our team of inspiring young athletes, and can’t wait to see what they do next as they move forward in their athletic careers and lives.
