Spiking for a Cause: The CAT14 Fundraiser

The 14th Annual CAT Volleyball Tournament Returns to Make an Impact

At NOVUS, volleyball is more than just a sport—it’s a powerful vehicle for change. With a deep-rooted commitment to making a difference, the CAT14 Volleyball Tournament is gearing up to support three incredible charities: the American Cancer Society, the Double H Ranch, and the 1:12 Project. As we eagerly anticipate our 14th Annual Volleyball Fundraiser, we're excited to share what inspires us and the rich history that has shaped this meaningful event.

The History of the CAT: From Backyard Beginnings to Local Tradition

The CAT kicked off fourteen summers ago in the childhood backyard of the Bernardo brothers. Nick and Garrett Bernardo, along with best friend Alex Martin, had a simple idea—to host a volleyball tournament with their friends in Bethlehem, NY. What started with eight teams of six players has evolved into the CAT Volleyball Tournament, an event that has become a local summer staple.

Since 2012, NOVUS Clothing Company has been the proud outfitter of the CAT and its participants, providing tees and tank tops while leveraging the event to raise funds for causes close to their hearts. Over the years, the CAT Volleyball Tournament has generated support for esteemed organizations such as the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the American Cancer Society of the Capital Region.

Making an Impact: Supporting Charities Close to Our Hearts

This year, we're proud to stand alongside the American Cancer Society, the Double H Ranch, and the 1:12 Project.

American Cancer Society: A Personal Commitment

The fight against cancer hits close to home for many of us at NOVUS. Through initiatives like CAT14, Men Wear Pink, and Tackle Cancer, we’ve stood alongside the American Cancer Society in their mission to fight cancer. Our dedication is fueled by personal experiences, as we honor loved ones like Aunt Karis and Kathy Klimchak, who have bravely battled cancer. Your contributions enable vital research and support, bringing hope to countless individuals and families affected by cancer.

Double H Ranch: Empowering Children and Families

With cherished ties and past participation in their events, we are thrilled to support the Double H Ranch. This organization provides year-round support for children and families facing life-threatening illnesses. By sponsoring unforgettable experiences for campers in the Adirondacks, we aim to bring joy and comfort to those who need it most.

1:12 Project: Empowering Youth Through Sports and Faith

Through the 1:12 Project, we’re making a tangible difference in the lives of underprivileged youth in the Dominican Republic. From hosting Baseball Sports Camps to providing clean water and supporting local jobs, your donations are transforming communities like Banica. Together, we’re empowering young individuals through the power of sports and faith.

Save the Date: Join Us in Making a Difference

Mark your calendars for July 11, 2024, from 4-8:30 pm, as we come together for the CAT14 Volleyball Fundraiser. Located at 1 Northway Lane, Latham, NY, this event promises an evening filled with spirited competition and meaningful connections.
