April 2023 NOVUS Newsletter

Spring is in full swing for the NOVUS team! During the month of April, NOVUS attended the GymRat LIVE tournament, the Double H Gala and officially set the date for the 13th Annual CAT Volleyball Tournament.

GymRat LIVE & NOVUS

The crown touched down at the GymRat LIVE tournament as the official apparel sponsor. The tournament attracted local basketball legends and world-renowned icons like Carmelo Anthony! Following the games, NOVUS hosted Maine United at their HQ for a mixer and got to catch up with fellow Mainers, including Cooper Flagg.

Albany Empire Partnership

The buzz around the Albany Empire is as big as ever this season and NOVUS is proud to be an official outfitter and on-field partner of the two-time defending NAL champions. The Empire celebrated their first big in at their home opener on April 16.

Crown Claiming Athletes

NOVUS welcomed Jackson Gilman to the NOVUS Athlete Team. Gilman is a sophomore at U Pitt and a Defender on the U Pitt Soccer Team. He claimed his crown as the 10th-ranked Freshman in the USA and we look forward to see what’s next!

Double H Ranch Gala

NOVUS was honored to attend “A Magical Evening” by the Double H Ranch to raise awareness and support for children and families facing life-threatening illnesses. We look forward to participating in more Double H Ranch events this summer.

Save the Date for the CAT 13

The CAT Volleyball Tournament is back for its 13th year! To ring in the summer solstice, the CAT 13 will be held on June 21 at NOVUS HQ. We set the bar high this year and hope to raise $25,000 for the American Cancer Society. Save the date and sign up today!

The CrownCast with Ross Scott

In April, NOVUS had the opportunity to chat with Ross Scott, All-American Lacrosse Player at Rutgers University. Scott’s 50 goals last season were tied for the most in a single season in program history. The Scarlett Knights took on the University of Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals and ultimately fell short on with a 14-11 final score. Ross Scott finished the game strong with four assists and has held the team lead with 42 points on the season—25 goals, and 17 assists.
