Professional Star Athletes Headline #1 Charity Volleyball Tournament in Capital Region

CAT13 to Feature Michael Oher, Harrison Butker and Terese Cannon

The unique and exciting annual volleyball fundraiser started by NOVUS owners Nick and Garrett Bernardo gets better every year and 2023 is no exception. Headlining the 13th annual “CAT” on Wednesday, June 21 will be Super Bowl XLVII champion offensive lineman Michael Oher, whose story was made famous by the book and movie The Blind Side, Kansas City Chiefs two-time Super Bowl champion Harrison Butker and Team USA beach volleyball star Terese Cannon.

CAT12 raised more than $15,000 for the American Cancer Society of the Capital Region last year. The annual volleyball tournament started in the Bernardo’s backyard earning the nickname CAT for their Glenmont, NY neighborhood known as Colonial Acres. The goal this year is to raise $25,000!

NOVUS is proud to host corporate-sponsored squads for a great cause as a team building opportunity for those companies. The competition gets intense as a bracket of 16 to 20 teams works its way down to the final two and a champion is crowned.

The CAT has grown in scale every year with commentators during matches, a DJ, food trucks and now raffle items to benefit ACS. While Oher, Butker and Cannon won’t be playing in the volleyball tournament, there is a unique opportunity to take advantage of Cannon’s skills. Call in the Cannon is a donation driven chance for teams to rent the serve of one of Team USA’s best.

Please join us Wednesday, June 21 at 1 Northway Lane in Latham to see the difference we’re working to make as a company, team and community partner! Games start at 6pm, teams will begin arriving at 5pm.
